SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Department Manager and or the Lead Mechanic, the Maintenance Mechanic will perform preventative and corrective maintenance as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment and/or machines
  • Complete fabrication assignments
  • Trouble shoot and/or diagnosis equipment problems
  • Equipment installations and assemblies
  • Operate fork truck
  • Follow all safety regulations
  • Maintain required quantity and quality levels
  • Operate Company computer system
  • Ability to perform all duties and responsibilities of the maintenance helper/trainee
  • Mentor for maintenance trainee/helper

Education and/or Experience

Requires a high school diploma or GED. Knowledge and experience in the repair and maintenance of manufacturing equipment. Between two and five years experience required. The position requires additional in-house training on special areas as appropriate.

Language Skills

Requires the ability to read and interpret documents such as work instructions, blueprints, Preventative Maintenance documents, employee handbook, and safety regulations.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts using basic math to include addition, subtraction division, and multiplication.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Other Qualifications

Requires ability to operate and/or use various tools and equipment to include the Company computer system, hand tools, power tools, machine tools, knowledge of lifting and rigging principals, fire extinguisher, fork truck, various welding equipment. Must also demonstrate the ability to be a self starter and work within a team environment.

The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 60 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near forge presses and other moving mechanical parts. The employee is often exposed to high heat or hot working conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
