Production Machine Operator

Under the supervision of the Production Machining Supervisor, the Production Machine Operator will insure proper setup and operation of the Production Machine with the purpose of safely producing a quality product to customer specifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Machine forgings to print with associated tolerances
  2. Limited understanding of robot interface
  3. Perform visual inspection of forging prior to machining
  4. Inspect product for quality using various measuring tools
  5. Set-up tooling in machine
  6. Routine maintenance of CNC machines; check oil levels, coolant levels and concentration, change filters and monitor overall machine performance
  7. Empty chip bins when necessary
  8. Keep machine and work area neat, clean and organized
  9. Maintain required quantity and quality levels
  10. Follow all safety regulations
  11. Operate Company computer system

Education and/Or Experience

Requires a high school diploma or GED. Related manufacturing experience or progressively responsible related experience is preferred. The position requires additional in-house training on special areas as appropriate.

Language Skills

Requires the ability to read and interpret documents such as blue prints, work instructions, employee handbook, and safety regulations. 

Mathematical Skills

Position requires above average math skills and a basic knowledge of trigonometry. The ability to calculate figures and amounts using basic math is required (to include addition and division).

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Other qualifications

Requires ability to operate and/or use various tools and equipment to include the Company computer system, cutting tools, measuring instruments, hand air tools and overhead crane. Individual must possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate the ability to work within a team environment.
