Forging Press Operator

SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Press Department Supervisor, the press operator, reliefman, trimmer, and/or utility person will insure proper setup and operation of the forge presses and trim presses with the purpose of safely producing a quality product to customer specifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  1. Operate all forge and trim presses; This includes setting and monitoring all press controls
  2. Change dies
  3. Change cassettes
  4. Re-shim dies
  5. Adjust die lube lines
  6. Set or adjust furnaces
  7. Look for visual defects on dies and parts
  8. Make in process adjustments to presses and or controls
  9. Push out furnace
  10. Blow out furnace
  11. Remove pusher bars
  12. Operate Company computer system
  13. Operate fork truck
  14. Follow all safety regulations
  15. Maintain required quantity and quality levels
